Partner Program · XR Exhibition 〈Human Code : 0.5〉

Material Lab × AI Archiving

Hands' Code · Drawing with Collected Materials

A photograph reproduces. A workshop reconstructs. At the XR exhibition 〈Human Code : 0.5〉, visitors send their own photo into VR by QR code. This workshop starts from that same photo — not to copy it, but to move the feeling it brings back into physical material. The looking-back happens three ways: through the body in VR, through the hands in the workshop, through a record made with AI. A free partner program at Elice Lab Seoul Center. No drawing experience, and nothing to prepare in advance.

Session Flow

Part 1 · 35 min

Choosing

Choose the scene you want to keep — nothing decided in advance; your camera roll on the day is enough. Then choose from materials collected across cities: soft pastels (Copenhagen, Tokyo, Paris, London), oil pastels (Copenhagen, US, Mexico), and papers from Mexico, India, the UK, the US, the Netherlands, and Paris.

Your chosen materials and surface

Part 2 · 60 min

Drawing

You are not copying the photo. You are following the feeling it brings back. The goal is not a good drawing — it is getting what the scene left in you out through your hands.

A drawing you take home the same day

Part 3 · 25 min

Recording

With AI, turn it into a single record: which feeling moved into which material. Not a portfolio piece or an artwork card — a record of memory kept alongside the photo.

From the Exhibition to the Workshop

VR — through the body. The photo you sent by QR appears in the second part of the exhibition, met again while moving. Workshop — through the hands. Starting from that photo, choosing materials, working by hand — following the feeling rather than the likeness. AI — as a record. What surfaced is given a form to keep: which feeling moved into which material, held on a single card. 〈Human Code : 0.5〉 runs Fri Aug 21 – Sun Aug 23, 10:00–20:00, in the Elice Lab lounge. Seeing the exhibition first makes the whole arc — looking back, then reconstructing — hold together.

Before You Come

No drawing experience required. Nothing to prepare in advance — you can pick the scene you want to keep straight from your camera roll on the day. Materials, tools, and paper are all provided; just bring a phone or a laptop. Pigment does not wash out of clothing, so please come in something comfortable. You take your work home the same day.
