This Session Is For You If

You might need this session if any of these feel familiar

Work has accumulated but your portfolio and website still feel unorganized
You rebuild your application materials from scratch every time you apply somewhere
Your artist statement, project descriptions, and CV feel unclear or inconsistent
You want to use AI tools but don't know how to connect them to your practice
You want to think through your next steps as an artist — pricing, channels, income structure

Choose Your Focus

One Session, Three Focuses

Choose what you need most right now. The entire 3 hours will be structured around that focus. You can also combine two areas.

Focus A

Artist Website Build

Use AI coding tools to clarify your website architecture, structure, copy, and image flow. Leave with a clear plan — and in some cases, a working site.

Good For

Artists building a portfolio site for the first time
Sites that exist but feel structurally confusing
Wanting to present your work more professionally online

Possible Outcomes

Website structure
Main copy and section layout
Work/project page direction
AI coding tool strategy

Focus B

Portfolio & Open Call Kit

Organize your images, CV, artist statement, and project texts into a reusable application kit for residencies, grants, and open calls.

Good For

Artists preparing for residency and open call applications
Portfolios that need to be restructured or cleaned up
Artist statements and project descriptions that always feel stuck

Possible Outcomes

Portfolio PDF structure
CV organization
Artist statement direction
Residency / grant proposal framework

Focus C

Artist Career Strategy

Review your practice, income structure, channels, pricing, and positioning together — and design a realistic map for your next steps as an artist.

Good For

Navigating between exhibitions, residencies, workshops, sales, and consulting
Wanting to design your practice and income structure together
Trying to articulate and position what you do

Possible Outcomes

Artist positioning
Open call / residency strategy
Income structure ideas
30-day action plan

About Jay

Built from an artist's perspective — for artists who need systems, not advice

Jay Lee is a Seoul-based interdisciplinary artist who has worked with painting, installation, ceramics, textiles, flowers, found objects, and bio-based materials — exploring the materiality of place and memory. With residencies and exhibitions across Mexico, Germany, Turkey, the US, Canada, Argentina, and Norway, Jay brings that firsthand experience to help artists organize the things they actually need: portfolio structure, application materials, websites, and career systems.

This session is not a class on AI technology. It's about helping artists build systems in their own language and on their own terms.

What You Walk Away With

Concrete deliverables from 3 hours of focused work

A structured action plan tailored to your chosen focus
One core deliverable: website structure, portfolio, open call kit, or career strategy
A clear method for using AI tools in a way that fits your practice
The copy, structure, and priorities you organized during the session
Specific actions you can take in the next 2–4 weeks

What to Prepare

Nothing needs to be perfectly organized beforehand. Bring what you have, as it is.

Website link, work images, CV, artist statement, or application texts — whatever exists
The open call or residency you're applying to (if applicable)
2–3 reference websites or portfolios you admire
Laptop with Cursor installed (cursor.com, free) — for Website Build focus

Recommended: Attending the Artist Practice Workshop for the AI Era (group) first will help you get the most out of this private session. The group workshop covers brand language, channel strategy, and AI tool fundamentals — all of which feed directly into the deeper work we do here.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know how to use AI tools beforehand?

No. What matters more than technical skill is having a clear goal for what you want to organize. We'll choose the right tools together during the session.

Will my website be finished in 3 hours?

This session focuses on structure, copy, page flow, and build direction — not always a finished site. Depending on your situation, we may implement part of a page or section together.

Will you make a finished portfolio PDF for me?

We'll work through the structure, sequence, copy, and image flow together based on your materials. If a finished version is needed, that can continue as follow-up work.

Can you help with residency or grant applications?

Yes. If you have a specific open call in mind, bring the announcement, your existing artist statement, CV, and image materials — and we can work directly with them.

What should I prepare?

Bring whatever you have: a website link, work images, CV, artist statement, the open call you're applying to, or notes about what's been on your mind. It doesn't need to be organized.
