About the Host
Megan Lucille
Megan Lucille is an interdisciplinary international artist working in multifaceted, multimedia creation. Her life and art symbiotically intertwined, her body is the nucleus of her practice as both subject and instrument. Navigating (her)story, vulnerability, traumas, and the intimate places their residues reside, she lives a life of resilience amidst self-reclamation — a fateful journey that has inevitably named her living 'radical'. For over a decade, she has created immersive artworks across performance, film, textiles, writing, music, photography, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, painting, drawing, and installation. Her work has been exhibited in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Scotland, Germany, Finland, the United States, and online.
About the Work
Recognizing the sensual beauty and unequivocally unabashed power labia (and the ideas surrounding them), womanhood, and perceived femininity hold, Megan Lucille has created a knitting pattern and workshop that celebrates women of all prefixes.
This workshop honors the variety of feminine experiences, expressions, oppressions, harms, beauty, and pressures — all while highlighting handmade human creation, 'craft' and 'women's work' as Art, healing through creation, slowing down and the analogue, and communal support and discourse.
Knit this cheeky, versatile pattern in a queer-friendly workshop, just in time for Pride month.
